Is creating Veo 3 videos with Canva difficult? Let's find out together with STAVI!

Veo 3, launched by Google in May 2025, has taken the internet by storm and attracted a great deal of interest. In the early days, however, Veo 3 was only available in the United States, and creating a video took a lot of time and caused difficulties for many people, requiring you to work through many different steps and platforms. But now, everything has become easier than ever. Veo 3, Google's acclaimed AI video generation tool, is now integrated directly into Canva. With just a few simple steps, you can create videos from your own ideas right on a familiar platform.

Please note that the Veo 3 video generation feature is currently only available for paid Canva accounts (Pro, Teams, Enterprise) or Canva for Nonprofits. You can create a maximum of 5 videos per month, and Canva may gradually expand the video creation limit in the future. Canva currently only supports creating Veo 3 videos when set to English, so the first step is to switch the language.

Step 2: Open Canva AI

Go back to the Canva home page → find Canva AI (in the toolbar on the left) and click on it.

Step 3: Enter the video description prompt you have prepared

In the Canva AI interface, you will see a text input box. Paste the description of the video content you want to create into it. Then select Create a video clip → click Submit for the system to start processing.

Step 4: Download the video to your computer

Canva AI will finish creating the video in about 2-3 minutes. When it is done, simply click Download/Save to download it and you are finished!

How to write an effective prompt for creating Veo 3 videos

If you want the AI to produce an impressive video that matches your expectations, you need to write a clear and detailed prompt; the more clearly you describe it, the more realistic the video will be. You can use ChatGPT or Gemini to generate the prompt. Below are the steps to make this easier:

Step 1. Start by describing the setting

Describe the surroundings, the time of day, or the colours of the video. For example: "A modern STAVI kitchen", "Workers sitting at tables enjoying lunch", "STAVI staff serving at the canteen counter" and so on.

Step 2. Introduce the characters in detail

State clearly the gender, age, clothing, emotions and actions of the characters. This helps the AI understand the content and create more accurate characters.

Step 3. Add actions to make the video realistic

Bring the video to life with specific actions: the character is eating, smiling brightly, nodding in approval of the tasty meal, and so on.

Step 4. Add Vietnamese dialogue if you wish

If you wish, you can include dialogue in the prompt. Put the spoken words in quotation marks, for example: "Wow, today's lunch is absolutely delicious! Rich flavour, piping hot, just like home cooking!", or state clearly who says what so the AI understands correctly. Note that the prompt must be written in English; only the spoken lines are given in Vietnamese in quotation marks. You can also request a male or female voice, a regional accent, the intonation, and so on.
